Welcome to Our New Site!
This fall, we are excited to announce our new web site, designed and developed in collaboration with local creative Acacia Carr. For our new mobile friendly web site, we wanted something clean and modern as well as playfully creative. We hope you will agree that the project was a success!
ARTsmart Crafts New Vision and Mission Statements
At an August retreat, the Board and staff addressed the vision and mission of ARTsmart New Mexico. Program Director Amanda Thomas noted that our new mission and vision “speak directly to the work we do in Santa Fe and northern New Mexico.”
Vision Creating a better tomorrow by inspiring and transforming the lives of our youth through the arts.
Mission To serve our communities by providing educational opportunities in the arts that promote confidence, self-discovery, and creative problem-solving skills.
Meet the Artist: Katarina Pittis
We love hearing from past ARTsmart scholarship winners! Our 2014 winner, Katarina Pittis, sends word from New York University about her spring trip to Havana, Cuba, to study film history, art, and culture. Through the guidance of NYU Tisch Special Programs and El Fundacion Ludwig de Cuba, she created two short documentaries, one of which, El Malecon, may be viewed on Vimeo here. This four-minute portrait of Cuban artist Rafael Villares documents his photographic series Finisterre. Learn more about ARTsmart scholarships and past winners.
