A Special Message from Executive Director Sarah Mandala on April 2, 2020:

Dear Friends of ARTsmart,

This weekend was to be our largest fundraiser of the year, the ARTsmart Annual Dinner & Auction: All You Need is Love and the Art of Home Tour. We also had to postpone our annual Edible Art Tour in June. It was difficult for our team to postpone these beloved and successful events.

We would like to share this special video by Andy Primm about ARTsmart’s Visiting Artist Program that would have premiered at the dinner auction:

With schools closed and students learning online, it is essential that we continue our mission to provide this resource in creative ways that fit the changing needs of these times. Your support today will ensure the continuation of this impactful program that educates over 5000 students by connecting them to diverse artists living and working in their community.

Make Your Gift Today

ARTsmart responded immediately to school closures by sharing bags of art supplies with Rio Arriba County and Santa Fe County students.

ARTsmart continues to dispense supplies to students through a partnership with Santa Fe’s chapter of the National Education Association. This community-wide effort draws resources from museums and child- serving nonprofits to support students in the spirit of collective impact.

We’re adapting what we do best to meet current needs by providing curricular content in partnership with Vital Spaces and ARTsmart Visiting Artists. This initiative provides teachers with free Visiting Artist Videos featuring dynamic local artists. ARTsmart is bridging students to local creatives during these isolating times while giving financial relief to artists motivated to inspire youth.

I initially planned to send a different kind of letter to you, introducing myself as ARTsmart’s new Executive Director, but postponements of our three largest fundraising events requires me to reach out to you now. We are indeed all in this together and I’m excited for when we can gather in person to celebrate that fact.

I thank you, the ARTsmart Community, and urge you to help us meet this challenge by making a gift today.
