Board Members


Jacob Martinez


President

Jacob Martinez was born in Colorado and raised in Taos and Santa Fe, NM.  He graduated from St. Michael’s High School and earned a BA in Art History with an emphasis on gallery management from Arizona State University. 

Jacob has worked in three major galleries on Canyon Road in Santa Fe for the last 15 years. He and his business partner opened Tierra Mar Gallery on Canyon Road in late 2022.

A strong advocate for the importance of art in education, Jacob has been an active participant and volunteer with ARTsmart since 2003.  He joined the ARTsmart Board in 2018.

Bruce Adams


Vice President

Bruce, a long-time Santa Fe resident, is dedicated to the important work that ARTsmart does providing art education to students in Northern New Mexico.  Formerly, a long time Board Member, Bruce is excited to re-join the ARTsmart team and help build support for our mission and grow ARTsmart's events. 

Bruce is the former publisher of both Su Casa and Santa Fean Magazines. He is currently a realtor in Santa Fe and understands the artistic magic of Santa Fe. His goal is to make a positive impact on the art eduction available for local children.

Bruce joined the ARTsmart Board in 2023. 

Jack Millhouse


Treasurer

Jack recently moved to Santa Fe after living in Chicago. A Certified Public Accountant by trade, he is excited to take on the role of Treasurer at ARTsmart. Jack believes in ARTsmart's mission to deliver art education to the youth of New Mexico and looks forward to aiding that cause. 

Cindy Graves


Secretary

Cynthia (Cindy) holds a BFA from Arizona State University and an MA from the University of New Mexico in American Studies. She joined the ARTsmart board in 2021.

Cynthia owns and operates GuestCurator Traveling Exhibitions, founded in 2001 and based in Santa Fe, an independent representative, and coordinator for traveling exhibits originated by museums, organizations, and individuals. GuestCurator has successfully placed exhibitions in museums and galleries throughout North America and Europe. 

Cynthia has worked in the arts for the past 40 years, including staff positions with the Texas Commission on the Arts, New Mexico Arts, and the Museum of New Mexico.

Cynthia has also served as a Chair for the Santa Fe Arts Commission and is a past member of the Arts in Public Places Committee for the City of Santa Fe.

Gail Edmonds

A CT native, Gail received her MALS in painting from Wesleyan University and a BA in art education from the College of New Rochelle in NY.

Gail’s career has spanned 36+ years including extensive experience as both teacher and administrator in her position as K-12 Visual Arts Coordinator for the Middletown Public Schools. Additionally, she worked as a consultant for the CT State Department of Education specifically in the areas of curriculum design and assessment.

Gail is the recipient of numerous awards and grants for her artwork as well as her contributions to arts education at the state and national levels. Widely exhibited in the Northeast, her works are included in numerous public and private collections. Gail continues to be a practicing artist, a very integral part of her life.

She joined the ARTsmart Board in 2017.

Kacey Kim

Kacey joined the ARTsmart Board in 2023 and is honored to join an organization with such an outstanding mission.

Kacey was born and raised in Hawaii. She moved to the US mainland where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Masters of Social Work degree. She has actively practiced in the behavioral health field for 9+ years, with an emphasis on serving low-income and marginalized communities. Kacey currently serves the State of New Mexico by overseeing the school-based health services program, specializing in behavioral health administration. Kacey recently earned her Masters of Art Therapy degree from Southwestern College in Santa Fe, where she maintains a small private art therapy practice. Kacey keeps an ongoing personal art practice with a focus on painting and mixed media.
