Since 2005,

All fifth-grade Santa Fe Public School students explore design with their art teachers and create artworks for ARTsmart’s annual Children’s Painted Plate Project.

The ARTsmart Board selects approximately 100 students’ designs for reproduction on kiln-fired ceramics.

Students work with art teachers at SFPS and volunteers during painting sessions to paint their designs. Volunteers paint the larger plate to be auctioned to raise funds for our Visiting Artist Program while students paint the smaller plate to keep.
